Yes, I've finally whacked some tonight (I know this sounds dirty).
Although I'll probably spoil it by posting it here.
I guess you can't ever post an entry about a Googlewhack without changing the outcome.
How paradoxical.
Damn.

Loathing and Obsession Below Zero
Yesterday, for the first time this winter, snow lingered on the ground. I went out during the snow storm, a new experience for me. I'm no longer a snowfall virgin!
It's been below zero continuously for two days now. It will always seem strange to me that the world outside can become one giant freezer, and still things will go about as they normally do, at the same temperature used to store microwaveable schnitzels.
Also, in what would seem like perfect timing, we've just erected our Christmas tree last weekend. Christmas seems to be attacking on all fronts and I'm already getting more than enough of my fill of it. By the time it is over, I will probably want to take a blowtorch to the prefabricated artificial conifer in the living room. But for the time being I will cut that trinket burdened gymnosperm some slack.
P.S. - I've been looking for a Googlewhack for a while now. My life will lay in ruins if I don't find a new one soon. I should join Googlewhackers Anonymous. Yes, this is a cry for help.

Thoughts on the Transmigration of the Soul
Gaze with reverence upon the albino peacock. So majestic and pure. I think I found a goal for reincarnation in a next life.

The Shrine of the Mitten
Yesterday we were invited to a party. The location must remain undisclosed, because the house we went to has been found to have around $500,000 worth of collectible items, most of it sports-related. Now, I was never a big sports fan. But still, though unable to fully comprehend the magnitude of what I was faced with, I was struck with shock and awe upon seeing the display cabinets. There were heaps upon heaps of autographed baseball bats, hockey sticks and even autographed cereal boxes depicting famous players. And the jewel in the crown: Mohammad Ali's autographed boxing gloves. Damn.
P.S. - I'm addicted to Bluffr.

Put On That Sexy Snow Suit
Megan came up with a new form of entertainment for those hot summer nights. It's called Dress Poker. You start out completely in the buff and gradually, as you lose ground in the game, are made to wear additional garments and layers of clothing. This goes on until one or more of the participants suffocate or are subdued by heat stroke.
This game will probably remain theoretical until it can be tested under adequate weather conditions. Here in Canada, I trust that wouldn't happen any time in the near future.

Dwarves of the World, Unite!
It turns out that Walt Disney books are the most widely translated in the world, while timeless classics such as Lenin's works occupy "only" the fourth place (UNESCO's Index Translationum).

Avast! Shoe overboard!
Useless fact of the day:
Some of the most accurate data we have on underwater ocean currents was gathered based on the floating movements of Nike shoes and hockey gloves that jumped freight ships.

Cultural Learnings of Canada for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Israel
It's been over a month here, in the country where ice cream bars first appeared on this world millions of years ago (unfortunately, while the ingredients were still inside the cow).
During this time, I have reaffirmed my already quite substantiated belief that I can waste time in a tremendously efficient way. I don't even notice wasting it while it's being wasted, and that is mighty strange indeed.
Anyway, over a month has passed, seemingly unnoticed. I have commenced Spanish studies and am now half way through the beginners course. Learning a new language is such a horizon broadening experience, and already I can be misunderstood in so more many ways than in the past.
Yesterday I made peanut butter chip cookies. I have created a monster.
Almost half are already gone, consumed by a vicious mob comprised of a couple of flat mates whose names will be kept discreet. I must admit I have also partaken in the looting. I consider giving the cookies to trick or treating kids, if I stumble upon any. That may be the only way to save us, the poor residents of flat 808, from the certain obesity associated with consuming all these cookies.

Ni Hao
My China travelogue is now online, at: http://realtravel.com/china-trips-i2391111.html.
Albeit being of no consequence to humanity at large, it's something I felt should find a resting place.
